“I was there at the advent of “Jane Fonda” and “feel the burn” aerobics, tums and bums, step, body conditioning, dancercise, gym classes, free weights and I could go on and on…what this tells you is that I am over 60 and know a thing or two about keeping fit and healthy and, more importantly, a brilliant teacher from the other sort. I was recommended to Brigitte quite a few years ago now and she is without doubt the most knowledgable and inspirational teacher I have had the privilege of learning with. “I have been attending Brigittes Pilates classes for about 18 years (ever since she started). I find the classes very enjoyable and beneficial for my general mobility. She runs the sessions at a good pace allowing you time to position yourself but fast enough to keep you focused so as a result after each session my mind is calmer. How has Brigitte using the Emmett Technique helped me? “I find it amazing as after only a few finger placements Brigitte has straightened (permanently!) my ‘hammer’ toes. Another time she really helped a pulled thigh muscle again with a little finger pressure – remarkable!” J / Wednesday

“I have been attending Brigitte’s classes for getting on for 20 years! I had a history of back and neck problems since slipping a disc at the age of 21. I had read about Pilates and thought it would be really useful for me and after fortuitously bumping into Brigitte in Waitrose (having previously gone to her aerobics class) I signed up. I was pretty hopeless at first and my stomach muscles were very weak but Brigitte’s classes were always fun and she treats everyone as an individual, adapting exercises and correcting us individually whenever necessary. I swear she has eyes in the back of her head! Many of us that started as beginners at a similar time have continued together over the years and when I look back at some of the exercises we now do, that I then thought were impossible I see how much we have progressed. However Brigitte never lets us rest on our laurels – there is always another level to aspire to. Pilates has changed my life, far fewer visits to the osteopath!
